Laboratory Services

Here at Osceola Cancer Center, we provide each patient with the highest quality of care, with a staff of professional physicians that specialize in hematology/oncology. Almost all diagnostic tests can be done here in the office, or in conjunction with reference labs, such as Quest and LabCorp.

Medical doctors who work in hematology are known as hematologists. Their work often involves microscope viewing of blood films and bone marrow slides, interpretation of various hematological test results, and the care of hematology patients. Specialists in the treatment of hematology diseases; such as those here at Osceola Cancer Center, are called hematologists/oncologists.

Our hematologist/oncologists have other specialties which include:

Treating bleeding disorders such as hemophilia.
Treating hematological malignancies such as lymphoma and leukemia.
 Treating hemoglobinopathies

In our laboratory, we may perform numerous different tests on your blood. The most commonly performed test is the complete blood count (CBC) also called a full blood count (FBC), which includes: white blood cell count, platelet count, hemoglobin level and several parameters of red blood cells. Blood coagulation and sedimentation rate are two other blood components which may be monitored, depending on your diagnosis. Should you need a bone marrow biopsy, this is also done in our office.
